Billerud Karlsborg, Sweden, invests in a fully automatic core handling system

In October CFE Nordic will install a fully automatic core handling for Billerud Karlsborg. This is the most northern paper mill in Scandinavia, producing high quality sack paper for the European market. The core cutter will be installed in the basement and the cut cores will automatically be transported to the winder level and fed into core carts. The parent cores will be stored in any of the 5 core hoppers and lifted one by one to the core cutter using a parent core robot. Included in the delivery is also an automatic de-packer which will remove the plastic packaging from the core bundles.

"Price is always important, but this time we have chosen supplier based on technical solutions", says the project team. The project will be accomplished in cooperation with Bohus PMC AB.
